I went for a walk on a cold winters day, all the leaves were brown and the sky was gray. A new year and new directions for me. My lake walks ground me and look different daily. I love seeing all the birds and wildlife. I’m on the look out for a family of owls. Right now the eagles and heron are nesting. The stark, yellow, winter grass and grays define the path around the NCMA . Soon everything will be back to green. Mostly my walks allow me to think and hear my thoughts, as well as clear my head and refresh my spirit. This winter seems long, night comes early and the days are short.
All the pandemic introspective time has allowed me to focus on my jewelry. i’m very excited about creating new work and developing ideas for new pieces. Im concentrating on each process and evaluating the best solution as I go along. Each day is full with a list of things I choose to do. Im very lucky to be in the situation I am in. George continues painting. The show he was in at the museum was extended so people were finally able to go and see it. Like everyone we miss seeing friends, family and traveling. We have been doing a lot of cooking and home improvements. Both of us have gotten our vaccines and are hopeful better days are not too far off.. Until then we will continue with the new normal .
